We’re expanding our services: Please enable 152.53.135.119 in your OFTP2 firewall in addition to the IP address 185.202.238.109. Both servers are stored in the DNS entry „update.os4x.com.“

 

OS4X Release 2025-07-03 can be downloaded online from the website www.os4x.com/downloads, the OS4Xvirtual images and the Docker containers are updated.

Current changes are:

  • OS4X Core:
    • ⊗ Removed: Padlock engine support for OFTP2 ciphers has been removed. This means that OS4XBox devices (sold from 2008 to 2013) no longer have hardware-based encryption acceleration.
    • ↑ Improved: Transfer speeds are no longer displayed as a fixed „kB/s“, but dynamically (bytes/s, kB/s, MB/s, etc.) to make the increased data throughput rates more readable.
    • ↑ Improved: Accelerate crypto operations by implementing natively in C instead of making command line calls to openSSL.
    • ↑ Improved: The command line tool „openssl“ has been upgraded to version 3.
    • ↑ Updated: Updating the web framework to ExtJS 7.9.0
    • ↑ Improved: The text input field for issued certificates in the application process has been visually enhanced.
    • ↑ Improved: In case of an encrypted database connection failure, the actual cause of the error is displayed, not just a „no connection possible“ error (e.g. trust relationship and validity of the database server certificate).
    • ↑ Improved: Increased compatibility with PHP 8.3.
  • OS4X Enterprise:
    • ⊕ New: New text template variable for an external web access URL available.
    • ⊕ New: Users can now be declared as „Power Users“ and receive access to the plugin and send logs of a job in Webaccess.
    • ⊕ New: Text templates for password resets available for the internal and external web access instance (including improvements in the mail content for better readability in MS Outlook).
    • ↑ Improved: The email template plugin will no longer send emails if the result of a template rendering is empty.
    • ↑ Improved: The Online EDI Converter plugin now also outputs the HTTP headers of the request in debug mode.
    • ↑ Improved: Plugin logs of OS4X Enterprise jobs use different colors to represent administrative actions as opposed to plugin executions.
    • ↑ Improved: Password reset optimized: if an email address was used as login name, this value is pre-entered in the reset form.

As the latest version of OS4X available, we recommend to update to this version as fast as possible.
